Public Online Information Act of 2011
Dublin Core
Title
Public Online Information Act of 2011
Description
Introduced April 4, 2011, this bill would make all three branches of the government's public records available on the internet for free. Also, the bill would update guidelines for how the government will make public information available. Every agency would have to publish a comprehensive, searchable list of all the records it makes publicly available.
This bill allows United States' citizens have full access to government (public) records for no charge. More people will be able to access files and this bill will make the government (at least seem) more transparent. For a more detailed summary, go here.
